Wildlife
Most photographs in this gallery have been taken by Alan Smith - many of them the wildfowl and waders found on our shores. Sunderland Point is at the tip of Morecambe Bay one of the top three locations in the UK for the over-wintering of birds of many species. They visit as it is a vital feeding place between long and often transatlantic journeys. All the area surrounding the Point is fully protected
