
John Walker Photographs 2
This is the second selection of images from Lancaster City Museums.
Most of the images are of the Point but we have added a few others of special interest mostly from Glasson Dock, Overton and Lancaster.
They are for our use only and must not be copied without permission.
1. William 'Barney' Dickinson, fisherman, pilot and ferryman.
2. Sunderland Point from Bazil Point, the training wall is complete and fisherfolk are draw-netting for salmon.
3. Tide rolling onto First Terrace.
4. Atmospheric river scene, tug towing sailing ship in distance.
5. Jetty and fisherfolk on Town Skear collecting mussels.
6. Pumping out water ballast?
7. Gardner and Spencer fishing families at the end of the Pad by First Terrace.
8. James and Tom Spencer perhaps just finished painting a whammel boat.
9. Salmon fishermen 'shooting' a whammel net, photograph probably taken from Town Skear.

13. Possibly an older photo, the Cotton Tree stands straighter than in later images, c1880.
